HYDERABAD: After the ALS Ice bucket challenge, Rice Bucket challenge and Books Bucket challenge, it is now the ‘Selfies4School’, which is going viral on Facebook and Twitter.
The campaign has come up to support girl child education. It is an initiative of NGOs Breakthrough and Educate Girls along with Vodafone which aims to end discrimination and violence against women, by encouraging educated men and women to join the effort to delay early marriage of girls and educate them. The campaign promises to send 10 girls to school for every selfie aiming to spread awareness about the right to education for girls and discouraging early marriage.
How it works?
The selfies have to be uploaded with a message under the #selfies4school on Facebook and Twitter. The hash tag has already gained momentum on social networking sites with a selfie getting uploaded every minute.
