HYDERABAD:The Telangana Electricity Employees’ Joint Action Committee (TEEJAC) urged governor ESL Narasimhan to give necessary instructions to AP power utilities to absorb all the employees, allotted to the state and are relieved by TS power utilities without any further delay.

The TEEJAC also urged the governor to relieve all the ‘native’ employees of Telangana working in AP power utilities immediately to enable them to join TS power utilities.

TEEJAC coordinator K Raghu and others submitted a memorandum to the governor to this effect here on Tuesday.

The AP power employees lodged a complaint with the governor on Monday stating that the TS power utilities have taken unilateral decision in allotting the employees.

The TEEJAC in its memorandum refuted the allegations levelled by AP power employees point by point.

“We submit this memorandum with a sense of anguish and concern over misinformation campaign carried out by AP power utilities and a section of AP power employee associations to malign Telangana power utilities and Telangana electricity employees over the process initiated by TS power utilities for allocation of employees between AP and TS and consequent relief orders issued to 1,231 employees allotted to AP power utilities,” the TEEJAC said in the memorandum.

Refuting the allegation that TS  unilaterally finalised guidelines for final allocation of employees without consulting AP power utilities, the TEEJAC stated the guidelines were finalised as per Section 82 of the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

On the allegation that the TS power utilities have no power to relieve employees allotted to AP, the TEEJAC submitted to the governor that employees allotted to AP cannot be allowed to stay permanently in Telangana for the failure of AP power utilities to finalise guidelines on their part within the stipulated time  and as mandated by APRA, 2014.

“In fact, TS power utilities have on several occasions requested AP power utilities to relieve TS employees working in AP, which was not heeded to by AP power utilities, TEEJAC said.

TEEJAC also refuted the argument by AP power employees that employees of TSSPDCL and TSNPDCL cannot be covered under bifurcation process as their jurisdiction was confined to Telangana.

All the state-cadre employees in two Discoms are eligible for allocation between two states.

“All the allegations made by AP power employees were motivated, baseless and are part of a systematic and strategic misinformation campaign carried out to malign the TS power utilities,” the TEEJAC said.
