HYDERABAD: In yet another road accident on Tuesday, a 32-year-old private firm employee was mowed down by a speeding truck on the Sardar Patel road near Begumpet. The victim, S Sandeep Kumar, died on the spot.
Ramgopalpet police registered a case under section 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC against the truck driver P Ramesh Goud. He was arrested and remanded later.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 9.15 am opposite Rakta Maisamma Temple on the SP Road as Sandeep Kumar was on his way to office on his bike from his Alwal residence. A native of Saroornagar in the city, Sandeep Kumar has been married for two years and was living with wife Latha Maheswari (25) and a two-months old son.
“The truck carrying LPG cylinders hit the bike from behind near Anand theatre. The upper part of the motorist’s body was crushed under the wheels and he died on the spot. The bike was crushed and dragged by the truck” said Krishna Mohan, SI, Ramgopalpet Police.
