Savouring Ramzan Nightlife

Battu Nandu who runs a dog kennel says he awaits Ramzan every year. “I make it a point to visit night bazar at Charminar to taste the lip-smacking delicacies that are synonymous with the holy month,” he grins.

What he likes

Nandu has a long list of must-have dishes. “I love mutton haleem and kheer at Shah Ghouse,” he shares. While these may fill his stomach the heart desires more. “So, our next stop is Shadab where we have shikampuri kebabs, mutton biryani and khubani ka meetha,” adds Nandu. Finally after he has savouring firni and halwa at Pista House and downed a hot cuppa of Irani chai that his visit to Charminar is concluded and is deemed fruitful.

And finally...

Apart from the old world charm of the Old City, Nandu’s Ramzan fervour continues at Sarvi where he indulges in pathar ka ghosht, jujeh kebab. “Although these are available throughout the year, it’s a different experience altogether when you savour them during Ramzan,” he says.
