GHMC to HC Will Clean Up in 2 Days

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Thursday assured the Hyderabad High Court that it will remove the garbage piled up on roads of the twin cities within two days.

GHMC standing counsel P Kesava Rao gave the assurance to a division bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice S V Bhatt, which was hearing a PIL filed by B Rajeswari, an advocate of the city, stating that garbage had piled up on the roads due to the corporation’s failure in removing it  for the last five days.

The GHMC counsel said that the corporation was unable to clear the garbage due to the strike by sanitation workers for the last few days. Now the corporation has initiated steps for its removal by availing services of private agencies, he informed.
