BDL Bags Golden Peacock Award

HYDERABAD: Bharat Dynamics Limited, (BDL), a defence public sector unit, bagged the prestigious Golden Peacock Environment Management Award - 2015 in the defence equipment sector.

BDL which implemented green initiatives like zero liquid discharge system, hazardous waste disposal and installation of solar panel was selected for its efforts towards protecting the environment.

V Udaya Bhaskar, chairman and managing director, BDL, has recently received the award from Union minister Prakash Javadekar at the 17th World Congress on Environment Management held at New Delhi on July 11. This was the first Golden Peacock award for BDL, according to a press release.

The Golden Peacock Environment Management Award is given every year to manufacturing units and companies for their  achievements in the field of environment management.
