IJU Concern Over Safety of Scribes

HYDERABAD:The Indian Journalist Union (IJU) condemned the murder of journalist Raghavendra Dubey and assault on two other journalists in Mumbai on Saturday.

The IJU expressed serious concern over the recent murders and attacks on journalists across the country. SN Sinha, president and Devulapalli Amar, secretary general of IJU, said that these incidents are raising doubts over safety of journalists in the country. They demanded for a speedy investigation and trial by a special court on a day-to-day basis, as recommended by the Press Council of India. The family of slain journalist should also be given adequate compensation, they added.
