HYDERABAD: A six-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 30 year old man at Hyderguda in Narayanguda police station limits on Thursday night. Based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, a case has been registered against accused Ateeq Bin Mohammed, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POSCO).
The incident, according to the complainant, took place in the cellar of a building opposite to CDR hospital in Hyderguda at around 8.30pm on Thursday. The accused, who has been working as a driver, is an acquaintance of the victim’s family. The accused as well as the victim’s family live at Muthyalambagh in Hyderguda.
The victim’s parents are daily wage labourers. “The accused saw the girl playing outside when he was on the way home. He lured her offering some chocolates and took her in his car to the cellar of a particular building,” said inspector S Bheem Reddy.
The incident came to light after the girl complained of pains in her private parts after reaching back home. The victim is a class III student at a nearby government school. The accused has been taken into custody and is being questioned.
