HYDERABAD: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will call on Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Monday to press for speedy sanction of works.
A proposal to convert six state highways - covering a distance of 1,018 km - into national highways will be on top of his agenda. The roads are: Hyderabad- Narsapur- Medak- Yellareddi- Banswada-Bodhan- Basar- Bhainsa connecting NH 61; Hyderabad- Bijapur road via Moinabad, Chevella, Manneguda, Kodangal up to Karnataka border; Kodad- Miryalaguda- Devarakonda- Kalwakurthi- Jadcherla, Nirmal to Jagityal via Khanapur, Mallapur and Raikal connecting NH 61 and NH 63; Ashwaraopet- Khammam- Suryapet; Karimnagar- Kamareddy- Yellareddy-Pitlam.
The minister will also seek additional funds under the Central Road Funds, and `557 crore for development of 17 roads. Development of Bowenpally- Kompally and Aramgarh- Shamshabad roads would also be discussed.
