HYDERABAD:A day after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to launch the Swacch Hyderabad, Swachh Telangana, campaign from May 16 to 20, GHMC special officer Somesh Kumar said 400 officers from various wings like sanitation, health, engineering, urban community development, town planning and others will be imparted training on May 6 for the same. The programme will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister.
Pointing out that the civic body is taking up development works through contractors costing Rs 300-400 crore, he said the GHMC was ready to spend Rs 1500 in the near future as per the CM’s vision if people and public representatives get involved in development works in their respective areas.
Somesh Kumar instructed GHMC officials to deploy more than 100 JCBs for clearing garbage in the city.
GHMC is also arranging control rooms in zonal offices and the head-office and providing special teams for the Swachh campaign.
