HYDERABAD:The Nacharam police cracked the case of the missing Rs 1.49 crore from the SBH. Investigation revealed the involvement of two employees of the Cash Management Services (CMS) in the theft of the money from the bank’s ATMs. However, the police could recover only Rs 73 lakh from the accused.

The police identified the accused as Maddela Sudheer Kumar, (24), a resident of Dream Home apartments in Malakpet, Mutha Ashok, (26), a resident of Vinayak Nagar and Golla Manoj (24), a resident of Musarambagh, Malakpet. The police recovered Rs 57 lakh from Sudheer, Rs 6 lakh from Ashok and Rs 10 lakh from Manoj.

Working for CMS, Sudheer was a custodian who deposited money in ATMs. Working in tandem with his co-custodian Ashok, and another friend Manoj, he planned the crime carefully and meticulously.

During routine internal audit on April 18, a shortage of Rs 1.49 crore from the ATMs was discovered.
