108 Staff Defer Strike to May 13

HYDERABAD:  The employees of 108 emergency ambulance services in Telangana, who announced an indefinite strike demanding pay hike have postponed it to May 13. After a four-hour long discussion with the GVK management on Friday, the employees’ union failed to achieve their demands and postponed the strike.

On May 13, the union members will again meet GVK representatives and negotiate on their demands. Based on the outcome of discussions, the employees will take final decision on boycotting services, the union members said. However, all the employees will attend their duties till further discussions are held. 

According to the earlier announcement, the employees were supposed to go on strike from May 7.

However, they have postponed it after the labour commissioner invited both the employees and GVK management for discussion.
