HYDERABAD: It was a set of four gory photographs of a woman with large bulging blood-shot eyes, dark circles under her eyes and the post on Facebook spoke about the woman being abused by her boyfriend and his friends, and sought help. Some NGOs stepped in and finally, the Neredmet Police registered a case on Friday against a man for torturing and assaulting his girlfriend over the past several months.

According to police, the 27-year-old woman was living with accused Nalla Narender since November 2014. The victim’s mother in her complaint informed the police that she was forcefully confined at the accused’s Kakatiya Nagar residence in Neredmet and was physically abused over the past three months.

On Wednesday at 10.30 am, the accused allegedly forced her to drink some unknown liquid, after which she started vomiting blood. Narender then informed her mother who rushed her to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.

Based on a complaint from victim’s mother a case was registered under IPC Sections 344 (wrongful confinement) 355 (assault or criminal force), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 509 (word, gesture intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

As the police were reluctant to register a complaint, some family friends posted an SOS message on Facebook on Thursday. Josh Govada, whose mother is a former employer of the complainant, said: “She is losing her vision and bleeding from her private parts. We have come to know that she was two months pregnant. Doctors have told us that she has been continuously physically assaulted and even made to drink battery chemical.” According to him, the victim told her mother that multiple friends of her boyfriend forced themselves on her over the last three months. “The accused has threatened victim’s mother against approaching police saying that he is TRS party’s local leader,” said Josh. B James Babu, investigating officer from Neredmet police station, said that all allegations from the victim’s mother are being probed.
