C'garh Students' Plea to Write Exam in TS Rejected

A vacation bench of the High Court rejects Chhattisgarh students' plea to write Intermediate exams in Telangana.

HYDERABAD: A vacation bench of the Hyderabad High Court has rejected the plea of students of Chhattisgarh to write Intermediate examination in Telangana state.

The bench comprising Justice K C Bhanu and Justice M Satyanarayana Murthy was dealing with an appeal by 158 students of the Board of School and Technical Education, Chhattisgarh, against a single judge order who dismissed their plea of directing the Board of Intermediate Education to permit them to appear for Inter public examinations held in March.

The petitioners’ counsel urged the Court to allow the petitioner students to write the Intermediate examination (supplementary and improvement) scheduled to begin from May 25.

On the other hand, the government counsel submitted that the Board of Intermediate Education of Telangana has rejected the applications of these students as their educational standards were not on par with the standards maintained by the state Intermediate board.

After hearing the case, the bench pointed out why the petitioner students have delayed in filing an appeal against the single judge order dated March 9, 2015.

While refusing to grant relief to the petitioners, the bench directed the state Intermediate Board to file counter affidavit in the case and posted the matter to next week.
