Govt Informers to Expose Tax Defaulters

HYDERABAD: The State government has introduced a new system of informers to bring tax defaulters to its notice. The move comes in the wake of scores of commercial establishments evading tax in the State.

These informers, who would remain anonymous, will also be rewarded in cash. Each informer will be paid 10 per cent of the revenue generated as a result of the information furnished by him or her. The maximum amount paid to an informer will be Rs  50,000.

The state has decided to reward informers to encourage them to give information about tax evaders.
