SI Suspended for Losing Service Pistol

The gun was traced by the Karnataka police who informed the Telangana police subsequently and the weapon had been recovered. 

HYDERABAD: Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Sharma has suspended Shankar Reddy, sub inspector of Penpahad police station in Suryapet for losing his gun while on a pilgrimage to a temple in Karnataka two days ago.

Telangana Additional DGP (Law & Order) Sudeep Lakhtakia said the sub inspector had come to Hyderabad for Ganesh procession bandobust duty and later went to visit a temple near Yadgiri town in Karnataka two days ago where he had reportedly lost his gun.

The gun was traced by the Karnataka police who informed the Telangana police subsequently and the weapon had been recovered. 

Suspending the sub inspector for negligence and dereliction of duty, the Additional DGP said disciplinary proceedings would be filed on him after departmental inquiry and stringent action will be taken in this regard.
