Couple Killed, Their 2 Kids Injured in House Collapse in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A couple was killed and their two children were injured after the first floor of an old building where they lived collapsed in Hussainialam area here today, police said.  

The building, attached to Hussaini Alam Aashoorkhana, was in a dilapidated condition and as renovation work was taken up in the main Aashoorkhana building, the four-member family had shifted to the first floor of the building, they said.          

"Following recent rains, the roof and walls of the first floor of the building collapsed this morning at around 7 AM and the four members of the family came under its debris. All the injured were shifted to state-run OGH hospital," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Charminar Division) K Ashok Chakrawarthy told PTI.         

Moinullah (50) and his wife were seriously injured in the incident. The couple died during treatment, while their children, Samreen and Suleman, who suffered minor injuries, are out of danger, the ACP said.   

A case has been registered and probe is on.
