Couple Killed, Kids Hurt in Wall Collapse at Hussainialam

A couple was killed and their two children were injured after the rain soaked wall of a dilapidated Aashoorkhana collapsed on them.

HYDERABAD: A couple was killed and their two children were injured after the rain soaked wall of a dilapidated Aashoorkhana collapsed on them on Sunday morning. The mishap took place in Hussainialam police limits.

According to police, heavy rains that were lashing parts of the Old City since Saturday night caused the wall of the dilapidated building to collapse on a house attached to the building.

The deceased were identified as Syed Mohammed Hussaini, 43 and his wife Khadeer Unnisa, 40. Their children Samrin Fatima, 12 and Suleman, 7, received serious injuries and are undergoing treatment in a hospital.

The family members of Syed Mohammed Hussaini were staying in a house attached to the Aashoorkhana Hussainialam and the the building was in dilapidated condition. Incessant rains that was hitting since last night caused the mishap. Around 6 am on Sunday, the wall of building collapsed and fell on the victims.

‘’The victims were stuck amidst debris and Hussaini and his wife died on the spot due to suffocation while their children who received injuries were rescued by clearing debris,’’ police said. Police who received information visited the place and started clearing the debris. They found the couple dead and injured children in an unconscious condition and were  shifted the Osmania General hospital.
