HYDERABAD: A clean environment boosts productivity of individuals, South Central Railway additional general manager Umesh Singh has said.
Delivering a keynote address at a seminar on ‘Swachh Bharat Mission’ conducted by the medical department of SCR here on Tuesday, he said the Swachh Bharat Mission, announced by prime minister Narendra Modi, was the biggest-ever cleanliness drive in the country and hoped it would achieve the goal of Clean India.
Elaborating on the benefits of Swachh Bharat, Singh said cleanliness and clean environment would boost the image of the country. SCR chief medical director Girija Shankar spoke of the steps being taken to ensure cleanliness at railway hospitals. Manual scavenging had been totally abolished and mechanised cleaning introduced in SCR, she claimed.
