HYDERABAD: Known for his controversial speeches, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi faces arrest, yet again, in connection with a case registered against him for allegedly making inflammatory speech at an election rally in Kishangunj district of Bihar a couple of days ago.
After an FIR was lodged against the junior Owaisi at Kochadhaman police station in Kisanganj district on Monday, the Kisanganj SP Rajiv Ranjan on Wednesday issued arrest orders against him.
Though there was speculation that Akbaruddin Owaisi could be arrested from Hyderabad by a police team from Bihar, Hyderabad city police officials confirmed that so far, none from Bihar police had approached them.
‘’If they come here to arrest the MLA, they would contact us. But so far, no one has contacted us,’’ a police official told Express.
Akbaruddin, younger brother of AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asauddin Owaisi, has been arrested previously for his controversial speech in Telangana State.
In Hyderabad, Akbar’s brother and MP Asaduddin Owaisi told media personnel that the matter will be dealt by the party’s legal team.Speculations are rife that Akbaruddin may be arrested anytime now by an inter-state police team from Bihar.
