NGRI Director will Be Appointed Soon, Says Dr Harsh Vardhan

Dr Harsh Vardhan said here on Sunday that the hunt for the post of director of the  National Geophysical Research Institute is still on and assured that a decision would be taken soon.

HYDERABAD:Union minister for science & technology Dr Harsh Vardhan said here on Sunday that the hunt for the post of director of the  National Geophysical Research Institute is still on and assured that a decision would be taken soon.

Addressing newsmen at the Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials (ARCI) here, the Union minister said “I am aware that NGRI doesn’t have a regular director for the past few months. The selection process is active now and we are going to appoint someone soon.“

The Union minister visited various Centers of Excellence dealing with Nanomaterials, Engineered Coatings, Ceramic Processing, Non-Oxide Ceramics, Sol-Gel Coatings, Laser Processing of Materials and Solar Energy Materials. He also interacted with scientists and technical officers who were involved in development of various materials and manufacturing technologies. He also assured the scientists at ACRI, that he will look into their pension issues and would try to resolve it.
