HLF Encourages Student Participation

Who said that the younger generation is only into Facebook and Instagram? Hyderabad Literary Festival proves otherwise. To increase student specific activities, HLF 2016 has come up with exciting programmes for college students. HLF organisers will conduct a series of pre-events, targeted at post graduate and undergraduate students.

The students will get to participate in debates ‘Word for Word’ in the Oxford debate format and a Literary Quiz ‘LitQ’. The debate competition will draw students from different colleges across Hyderabad for which teams are being mobilized from different colleges. The debates will commence in November 2015. The finale of the debate will be at the Festival in January 2016 where the students will get judged by an author jury. Quizzes will be conducted across the city.

Moreover, faculty of these colleges will be invited to participate in an event called ‘My Top 10’, wherein they will pick 10 best books of their choice and write their recommendations for each book. These will be displayed at the festival venue and a special session will be held for the participants of this event where an author panel will discuss most popular books and current trends in literature.

Students can volunteer for the organising events, festival requirements and projects of research and blog writing. Volunteering would give the students great experience in planning, organising, teamwork and creativity.

Last date to apply is October 20
