Cycle Rally Ends in New Delhi

HYDERABAD: After cycling for 18 days and covering 1875 km, the cycle rally team of Telangana State Prisons Department reached India Gate in New Delhi on Saturday. They had started off from Charminar on September 30 to spread the message of ‘corruption free prisons’. On the way the team had stopped at villages and addressed gatherings at schools and colleges across Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi.  Vinoy Kumar Singh, director general (prisons) Telangana, welcoming the rally at India Gate, appreciated the commitment, discipline and fitness of the cyclists. He said that purpose of the rally has been served as message of unity was spread during the rally. “Exposure to different jails will definitely help us to upgrade standards of department and adopt good practices from other jails,” he added.
