'Give Bonus With MSP for Rice, Maize and Cotton'

KARIMNAGAR: The Congress senior leader MP Ponnam Prabhakar has demanded the State government to provide a bonus of `200 for maize and paddy and `500 per quintal of cotton along with the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for these crops.

The Congress leader spoke to reporters at the R&B guest house in the district on Sunday. Ponnam condemned the State’s approach on the agricultural crisis. He slammed the TRS for spending crores on Bathukamma festival when the farmers in the State were on a suicide spate.

He demanded that the government assist the drought hit regions and come up with a contingency plan.
