Top Irrigation Official From Telangana on Week-Long Visit to Austria, Spain

HYDERABAD:The State government has accorded permission to Dr Shailendra Kumar Joshi, principal secretary (Irrigation) on Saturday to visit Austria and Spain for a week from October 24 to  November 1. The aim of the visit is to study the integrated water resources management model implemented by these countries. The entire cost for the visit will be borne by the European Union (EU) under the Environmental Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Facility (ENV-TAIEF). 

The permission was granted based on an invite from Nicholas Hanley, the head of unit, European  Commission to a five-member delegation of Indian officials to study the models implemented by Austria and Spain.

The ministry of water resources, river development and ganga rejuvenation, New Delhi, among others, has nominated Joshi as a member of the 5-member delegation to visit Austria and Spain. Accordingly, the state government sanctioned permission for the foreign trip.
