SCR Fines Rs 5.7 Lakh in Special Checks

HYDERABAD: South Central Railway personnel conducted a special check against ticketless and irregular travel at the Secunderabad railway station on Monday.

In all, 1,293 persons, 411 of them travelling without ticket and 644 irregularly, and 238 were carrying luggage without booking and they were fined Rs 5,70,195.

The check was conducted under the supervision of chief commercial manager M Sarjan Rao. Senior officers of the commercial department also participated in the drive which was carried out by 120 ticket-checking staff who were aided by RPF Personnel.

All the exit points at the station were plugged to prevent ticketless travellers from escaping.
