Cloudless Skies and Green Murder, Reasons for the Hot Weather

HYDERABAD: Let the air-conditioners run on, for the North East winds that bring coolness are moving further down South India without even touching Hyderabad. Winter is still a fortnight away informs meteorological department, all this while the denizens can do nothing but bear with the heat. Hyderabad is still in the grip of summer is because of the non-cloudy sky.

Director of Meteorological department YK Reddy informed, “The wind movement plays an important part. However, the heat will be on. Anything above 4 degrees is considered normal.”

Cloudless skies and green murder (cutting down of trees) are the two main reasons for the heat this season. Hyderabad saw a boiling summer this year that has extended unannounced till this month. The temperature is 32 degree Celsius. According to the temperature data records, the usual temperature in October is 31 degree Celsius usually. Then how come the increase of just one degree brings so much of heat. “It’s  the cloudless skies. The sky is clear with not a single patch of cloud. Such heat is expected then,” the director of the weather department added.

A look at the previous data of temperature registered for the October month won’t be surprised. In the year 2014 it varied between 20 degrees to 28 degrees, but by November the chill had settled in. The temperature by mid November had dipped to as low as 18 degrees. Similar data is gathered from the previous years as well when the sun shone too bright making the city folks break into perspiration. Many of the government plans for tree plantation Telangana Haritha Haram lies in deep freezer.

In the previous years as well the temperatures had gone up and down crazily. Hyderabadis can expect getting drenched in their own sweat while bursting crackers.
