EC to Probe Deletions in Roll

HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India has deputed West Bengal chief electoral officer to Hyderabad to look into the complaints of deletion of a large number of names from electoral rolls in Sanatnagar and some other parts of Greater Hyderabad. 

A number of complaints have been lodged by Congress senior leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy and BJP leader N Indrasena Reddy alleging large-scale deletions ahead of elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and a possible bye-election for the Sanatnagar Assembly seat.

The West Benagl CEO will be heading a 14-member team which will have a meeting with representatives of all political parties at 11.30 am on October 31 in Room No.123 on the first floor of the main block of Dr MCRHRD Institute at Jubilee Hills here. The chief electoral officer of Telangana has requested the political parties to depute their representatives, not more than two, to the meeting.
