GP Birla Symposium to be Held Today

HYDERABAD:  To mark the 30th anniversary of the BM Birla Planetarium here, BM Birla Science Center is organising GP Birla symposium on ancient Indian astronomy, mathematics and science on its premises on Wednesday.

Briefing the media on Tuesday, BG Sidharth, director-general of BM Birla Science Center, said “Modern science and mathematics were India’s gift to the world.” Sidharth said the planetarium had achieved the distinction of having been visited by 15 million people. “The centre is among the busiest, best-attended and best-rated in the world better than those in Europe, US, Far East, Soviet Republics and elsewhere.
