Providing Jobs to the Grey-collared

Merajob.com promises to make qualitative difference in a job recruitment sector
Providing Jobs to the Grey-collared

The advent of job portals in the last decade, revamped the functioning of the job market. From submission of  resume to sending job alerts to job seekers, the entire process went online. But these were limited to only acting as a bridge between job seekers and employers. They failed to reach remote areas and also did not focus on grey-collar jobs. Noticing the loopholes, Pallav Sinha along with Raman Thiagarajan and Girish Phansalkar, decided to come up with  merajob.com.

“We cater to various job roles that we feel are unserved – sales, front office, in-store, customer service, back office, administrative, delivery boys, hospitals, marketing, banking and others which are neglected by other job portals,” Sinha informs. Giving out the statistic he says, “About 12 million people become employable every year and will steadily increase in near future with India and Nigeria producing the highest number of employable population.”

To make employment process easy, merajob.com pre-screen the profiles. “The pre-screening process helps job seekers and employers as well,” he informs. Explaining the process the CEO says, “Our recruitment executives talk to applicants and understand which job they are suited for. Apart from that, they are also guided and counselled whenever required. The executives rework on candidates’ profiles which are then made available to the prospective employers. This makes job seekers even from remote areas confident about finding a good job.” The portal also keeps track of applicants’ progress and recommend them jobs accordingly. “If the person requires certain training, we also connect him to best institutes in the city where they can hone their skill,” he informs. They work on Online to Offline model where they not only notify job seekers about jobs on their website, but also on their social networking sites, they send them SMS alerts too.

About four lakh people have benefited from the job portal which began its operations in 2013. Sinha aspires to make a qualitative difference in a job recruitment segment.
