Fixed Time for Sanction of Water, Drainage Connections

HYDERABAD: To avoid any delay in the release of new water connections through the Single Window Cell (SWC), the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has decided to fix time lines for processing SWC files for releasing water and sewerage connections at different stages in a time-bound manner.

A few days ago the board had issued some guidelines for processing the applications in a time-bound manner. The Service Level Agreements (SLA or Time Lines) implementation would be applicable for files applied  online for various categories including white ration card files.

HMWS&SB officials said that it would initially be applicable for files for which the processing fee payment was received after the incorporation of SLA process in the existing SWC software module. After  stabilisation in two months, all online files would be brought under SLA processing.

SLA implementation will not applicable for files applied under Voluntary Discloser Scheme-2010 and VDS-2014, non-revenue connections like religious charity, charity institutions and filling stations, regularisation of illegal connections and  Mee-Seeva files.

Operation and maintenance (O&M) officers have been asked to process the files within the time line period. For Category-1  connections (domestic), the fist-level feasibility capturing will be done in 15 days from the date of receipt of processing fee and the second-level in about 10 days from the date of first-level feasibility.

Requests for capturing document submission online will be accepted 10 days from the date of completion of the second-level feasibility capturing. Later, SMSes will be sent to customers at regular intervals.

About 10 days’ time will be given for submission and acknowledgement of documents by customers. If not submitted within 10 days, the file will get cancelled automatically and customers have to apply fresh.

Final-level feasibility capturing will be done after 20 days from the date of acknowledgement generation.

For payment of connection charges two months’ time will be given. CAN will be generated in 29 days from the date of auto allotment to Green Brigade.
