Gang Cons Artiste Offering Show Abroad

HYDERABAD: Police arrested three people for exhorting money from an artiste in the pretext of offering shows abroad.

Central Crime Station police said that offenders contacted the victim over mobile phone and lured him offering to arrange a show in Guruparampara residential school in South Africa for their annual day celebrations.

The arrested have been identified as Dasari Ashok Kumar, Sadi Nuka Raju, and Chintakrinda Muthyal Rao. Four other accused involved in offence Vamsi Singavarapu, Kokkirala Shyam Kumar, Kakulapati Prasad Rao and Madhu are absconding.

The offenders assured him of arranging visa and directed him to pay processing fee of Rs 9,268. The artiste deposited the amount in bank on June 19.

Further, they trapped him to buy a Hyundai i20, 2014 model car for Rs 76,878 as a good will.

He deposited Rs 45,000, but later only realised that he was being duped.

Based on the complaint given by the victim, police registered a case and took up investigation and arrested the accused.
