HYDERABAD: City police commissioner M Mahender Reddy on Saturday inaugurated vehicle mounted cameras at Tank Bund in view of Ganesh idol immersion.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that the vehicles with high revolution cameras will ply on Tank Bund and record visuals during procession and immersion of Ganesh idols. “If any miscreants indulge in any kind of offences, police can identify them from the visuals,” Reddy said.

Reddy stated that they would introduce 120 vehicles mounted cameras in near future to reduce criminal activities in the city.

These cameras can shoot visuals upto 500 metres and store them for 15 days. The cameras would link to police control command, where senior police officers will monitor the visuals.
