13 Speakers who Inspired Audience

In line with theme of TEDxHyderabad – Unfolding Journeys – goes, 13 eminent speakers from different walks of life unfolded inspirational stories of their journey towards success, at the TEDx event that took place on Sunday. The stories captivated the attention of 500 attendees.

TEDxHyderabad 2015 aimed at recreating the experience of TED talks in local communities. It was organised with the aim to offer a platform for change makers in Hyderabad to come together, network, share experiences and motivate each other.

The speakers included Scientist Ritu Karidal, who led the team behind India’s successful Mars orbiter mission ‘Mangalyaan’; renowned agriculture scientist GV Ramanjaneyulu who has waged a war against the use of pesticides in farming; the humanist and activist Babu Gogineni who has dedicated his life to spread the message about rationalism, logic and love for humanity; Armstrong Pame – the first IAS officer from the Zeme tribe of Nagaland. He connected his district, Tousem to the rest of the country by building a 100 km long road by raising funds through social media. Entrepreneur Raman Roy, who is credited with starting the India BPO revolution; Kshitij Marwah – a master innovator working on spreading the movement of anti-disciplinary learning, hands-on creation and design thinking across India; Palam Kalyanasundaram, an award winning social service man whom the United Nations has called - One of the most outstanding people of the 20th century.

Guest speakers also included personalities from the field of art, music and sport including Carnatic Vocalist Manasi Prasad; Swiss musician Joe Koster who runs a music institute with an aim of introducing western classical music and Jazz to the people of Hyderabad; Zena El Khalil - a visual artist from Lebanon who uses art to raise awareness on issues in Lebanon pertaining to animal rights, civil marriage, as well as spread love, peace and positivity; Third generation photographer Lenny Emanuel, a moment capturer by heart; Change agent Anshul Sinha, creator of thought provoking short films like ‘Gateway to Heaven’, and adventurer Colleen Lightbody who knows what it is to overcome perceived challenges. She has climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, Everest base camp and completed many ultra-marathons, Iron man triathlons etc. to overcome her own limitations.

Agriculture Scientist GV Ramanjaneyulu said, “I strongly believe that it’s always the journey that is exciting than the destination. I am very excited and looking forward to be part of the TEDxHyderabad community.”
