A Date with Gadgets and Gizmos

The ongoing 2nd edition of India Gadget Expo (IGE) has showcased more than 1,000 gadgets from over 300 manufacturers from around the world. On its third day, the IGE at the HITEX Convention Centre attracted everyone from investors, CEOs, techies,  dealers/ distributors, consumers students and others. 

The 30-hour long Hackathon Carnival saw hackers pitching their prototypes and solutions. Prakhar Gupta and Tejashwari Darvi, final year student of BITS Pilani Hyderabad who presented Transport Automator won the Hackathon. It allows companies to have car pooling for their employees going in same route by using algorithms.

Other interesting ideas that were appreciated were Smart Parking Solutions, that uses sensors to detect empty parking spaces, Smart Alcohol Sensor, which helps in road safety by automatically  detecting alcohol limits and integrating with mobile application.

IGE had over 100 stalls where the companies like Canon, Micromax, Gionee, Panasonic , WDC, Motorola, BMW, and Mercedes displayed their latest products.
