HYDERABAD:The state government on Wednesday accorded permission for installation of a statue of the late G Venkataswamy, popularly known as Kaka, in Sagar Park on the Tank Bund here.
The statue of the former MP will be installed strictly in conformity with the report of a committee appointed by the Supreme Court to monitor the activities around Hussainsagar Lake.
The metropolitan commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority shall take necessary action accordingly, the orders said.
After the demise of the senior leader, his sons, G Vivek and Vinod, have been urging the government to erect a statue of the departed leader in a prime location in the city.
