File Counter in Maoist Encounter: HC to TS

Acting Chief Justice dealt with a PIL filed by Civil Liberties Committee alleging that police picked up Sruthi alias Mahitha and Vidyasagar Reddy alias Sagar, and killed them after brutal torture.

HYDERABAD:  A division bench of Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the State government to file counter affidavit along with the autopsy reports of bodies of two Maoists who were allegedly killed in an encounter in Tadwai mandal of Warangal district on September 15. 

Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice  S V Bhatt dealt with a PIL filed by C Chandrashekar of Civil Liberties Committee alleging that police picked up Sruthi alias Mahitha (23) and Vidyasagar Reddy alias Sagar (32), and killed them after brutal torture. Petitioner’s counsel V Raghunath urged the court to register a murder case against the police officers and beseeched a CBI probe.
