Don't Allow Outsiders to Meddle in Varsity Affairs: HC

HYDERABAD: Justice Challa Kodandaram of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday made it clear that outsiders shall not be allowed to meddle in the affairs of the University of Hyderabad to disturb the academic atmosphere there.

He delivered an interim order on a petition filed by Prof G Vinod Kumar, seeking a direction to the University authorities to take steps for restoring peace, harmony, law and order and academic atmosphere on the varsity campus.

Prof Kumar stated that the interference of outsiders must be restricted so that the atmosphere is not vitiated. He sought a direction to the university authorities, especially the V-C and the commissioner of police, to take steps to see that outsiders, including those representing political parties and associations, are not allowed to deliver provocative speeches on the varsity campus.

After hearing the counsels, Justice Kodandaram ordered that outsiders should not be allowed to disturb the atmosphere on the campus.
