HC Relief to Indu Group Chairman

HYDERABAD:  In a relief to Indu group chairman Syam Prasad Reddy, the High Court exempted him from personal appearance in the special CBI court in the disproportionate assets case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The CBI named Syam Prasad Reddy as an accused in cases filed separately in connection with Lepakshi Knowledge Hub, Indu Tech Zone and Indu housing project. Following the direction issued by the CBI court, he has to appear before it every Friday.  Aggrieved with the CBI court’s direction, he moved the High Court seeking exemption from his appearance in the case. Petitioner’s counsel submitted to the HC that being the chairman and managing director of Indu group he had to travel to various countries  and was facing difficulty in appearing before the lower court every Friday. The CBI counsel sought time to respond to the plea.

After hearing both the sides, justice Raja Elango granted interim order exempting the petitioner’s appearance before the lower court until further orders. The judge posted the matter after summer vacation for hearing.
