Race to Nowhere: 3 Students Attempt Suicide, 2 Die

HYDERABAD/ SANGAREDDY:  A 17-year-old intermediate student attempted suicide by slitting her throat after she failed to clear intermediate exams. The incident took place in Lalaguda police limits on Friday. The victim was shifted to Gandhi General Hospital and her health condition is said to be stable. The student Charani (name changed), checked Intermediate results by logging into the exam portal at 11.30 am on Friday. As she failed to clear the exams, Charani was depressed. The girl returned home and attempted suicide by slitting her throat with a sharp blade. Her parents shifted her to Gandhi General Hospital with the help of police and her condition is said to be stable.

In the second incident, an Intermediate student of a corporate college committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling at his hostel room. The incident took place at Sri Chaitanya Junior College of Bachupally in Dundigal police limits. The deceased was identified as Amar, a second year intermediate student. Police are yet to be ascertain the reason for his suicide. The college management alerted them stating that one student committed suicide in his hostel room. Police shifted the body to mortuary.

In another incident, an Inter second year student Sagar committed suicide by consuming pesticide in Digwal village on Thursday. Sagar feared that he might not fare well andconsumed pesticide. On Friday, when the results were announced, it came to light that Sagar had failed in a subject.
