CCS Cops Arrest Duo for Duping Woman of Rs 2.35 Crore

HYDERABAD: The Central Crime station (CCS) police on Friday arrested the president of AP Kammara Tega (ST) Sanshema Sangham and the general secretary of Mobile Welfare Society for duping a woman by selling government land and collecting `2.35 crore.

The arrested persons are O Subba Rao, president of AP Kammara Tega (ST) Sankshema Sangam and Dharma Raju, general secretary, Mobile Welfare Society.

In 1991, the accused obtained Patta certificate purported to be issued by district collector, Ranga Reddy district relating to the lands measuring 99 acres in Survey No 32 to 40 of Gachibowli Village, Serilingampally mandal, Ranga Reddy District.

Later, revenue authorities confirmed that no such patta certificate was issued to Mobile Welfare Society represented by Dharma Raju.

With the false Patta certificate, Dharma Raju and Subba Rao started allotting plots. Dharma Raju executed allotment deeds to parties and got registered the same at SRO Narapally.

As they failed to provide possession of the plots, some of the parties approached police and lodged complaints against them in Rajendranagar, Raidurgam,  Madhapur, Jubilee Hills police limits.

Likewise, the accused had also taken one Merlyn Manjula and her husband Samuel Raj Kumar into confidence in June, 2015 and deceitfully told of the land and agreed to give 1 acre 20 guntas in Sy.No.34 of Gachibowli village, upon arranging an amount of `2.35 crore.

Merlyn and Samuel, who were working as pastors and organisers of The Kings Temple, International outreach, Patigadda, Begumpet were searching for land to construct a Church, They believed the accused and paid `2.27 crores through cheques. The amount was credited into the account of AP Kammara Tega (ST) Sankshema Sangam and Vishanth Infra Engineer Pvt. Ltd.

Thereafter, both the accused shared the amount and failed to issue receipt for the  amount. Moreover, they failed to execute the GPA in favour of Merlyn.

Upon her demands, Dharma Rao executed a GPA in favour of Merlyn by mentioning that the land being providing to her free of cost even after receiving an amount of `2.27 crore.

When Merlyn Manjula started pressuring them to execute the lease agreement, the duo abused and threatened her with dire consequences.

The copy of the patta certificate was verified in the district collector office, who informed that no such Patta certificate had been issued in the name of Mobile Welfare Society.
