HYDERABAD: Two students, who duped online business portals -- Flipkart and Amazon-- by replacing sand into delivery box after taking out original phones were arrested. The accused committed six similar offence and took away Nexus 6P Gold mobile phone, Microsoft Mobile phone, One SAMSUNG 6S edge mobile phone, Nikon Digital camera (model No.D5500), Lenovo Laptop and One DVD (video game DVD).
The arrested persons are -- Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque, 19, Student of psychology at IGNOU, Jubilee Hills, resident of Golconda and Mohammad Shahroz Ansari, 24, BBA Final year at SJ Arts & Commerce College, Jawaharnagar, Bhandara District in Maharastra state, resident of Golconda, Hyderabad.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Task Force, B Limba Reddy said that the accused Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque and Mohammad Shahroz Ansari used to place orders online for electronic goods such as Mobile phones, Laptops, Cameras, DVDs etc, by login Flipkart and Amazon from the past four months.
According to their plan, when the a boy came to deliver the material, the accused Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque receives the item and his brother- in-law Mohammad Shahroz Ansari stays with the delivery boy outside of the house.
``After taking the sealed pack, the accused Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque goes into his house to bring debit card. Meantime, he removes the seal of the parcel very tactfully, takes out the item from the packed box, he replaces the equal weight of sand into the delivery box and re-seal the same with the help of sealing machine. Later, he comes out from his house along with the parcel pack as well as debit card which does not have amount. When the delivery boy swiped the debit card, it shows, that the card is declined. Saying a sorry, the accused Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque returns the parcel to the delivery boy and takes back his debit card. By adopting the modus operandi, they had stolen the mobile phones, laptop and DVD player by duping Flipkart and Amazon.
The both accused hail from of Maharastra state and both are relatives. From the past one year, the accused Yahiya Mohammad Ishaque along with his family members residing as tenant at Golconda, Hyderabad. He has registered as a book seller in Amazon and since one year, he is selling books online through Amazon and he knows very well that how to package the goods. Taking the advantage, with the help of his brother in law Mohammed Shahroz Ansari execute the plan of stealing the electronic goods.
