Tweet to Telangana DGP triggers swift action against Banjara drunkers

Sidharrth M Hemmadi of Banjara Hills had a tough time dealing with persons consuming liquor openly outside the Suresh Wine Shop.

HYDERABAD: Sidharrth M Hemmadi of Banjara Hills had a tough time dealing with persons consuming liquor openly outside the Suresh Wine Shop located in front of his residence. The inebriated people create nuisance.

Sidharrth has brought the issue to the notice of police for two years but there was no action. With no way out, Sidharrth tweeted to @TelanganaDGP mentioning @hydcitypolice, and @acpbanjarahills complaining about the menace he faces daily.

Hours after he tweeted to the police, the DGP referred the complaint to Hyderabad and Banjara Hills police.

Immediately, a police team reached the wine shop and picked up the drunkards who were creating nuisance. Police also registered cases on Suresh Wines owner B Sekhar Goud for allowing customers to consume liquor in a public place.

“Complaints were being filed with the police for two years. Finally, the police responded and took action after I tweeted to Telanagana DGP and Hyderabad Police. We also posted videos and pictures of those who consume liquor and create nuisance by riding triples on bikes. I appreciate the police for their action,” Sidharrth replied.
