HYDERABAD: Even as the Hyderabad Metro Rail is inching towards the launch deadline, a man from Odisha and his partner from Nagpur have been arrested on charges of duping as many as 14 persons to the tune of `20 lakh by promising jobs of ticket collector in HMRL.

Rachakonda Cyber Crime police arrested the duo who have already conducted telephonic job interviews with the aspirants and promised offer letters in the coming days. In March this year, P Srikanth (32) of Nagole area received a WhatsApp call from a stranger asking if he is interested to work with Hyderabad Metro Rail limited (HMRL). 

Srikanth told the caller that his sister was searching for a suitable job, Further, they asked him to pay `2 lakh for the job.  In an attempt to help others, Srikanth shared the job information with his relatives and friends. About four persons paid money to the stranger, and later realised that they got cheated.
