Around 25 candidates of police constables posts squatted in front of DGP office and staged dharna demanding a reply on the status of results over ‘challenge’ petitions on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: Around 25 candidates of police constables posts squatted in front of DGP office and staged dharna demanding a reply on the status of results over ‘challenge’ petitions on Wednesday.

Few candidates who were not selected for constable posts applied the board under ‘challenge’ option to clear their doubts on their results.

Responding to protests, Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board said that Board has received 153 challenge cases and their results would be intimated within next 10 days by April 22.

“Some candidates have filed Writ petitions before HC regarding selection under Special Categories such as NCC, HG, under Horizontal reservations.

The Board has filed counters and the matter is pending with High Court. Their cases are being considered as per the orders of the High Court. The result of the candidates will also be intimated in due course,” the Board said.

“Candidates are requested not to get misguided and agitated on instigation of mischievous elements. Verification of character and antecedents of about 10,000 candidates is in progress. When the matter is under active consideration of the Board, mischievous propaganda may not be resorted to in interests of young candidates of state,” Board said.
