Lovegen’s SS17 collection by Mumbai-based designer trio presents the perfect range of summer solids

HYDERABAD: Fashion bugs on the lookout for season’s top trends have all agreed on one thing when it comes to must-haves—off-shoulder cuts. With supermodel Bella Hadid verifying the look last week at her Sunday brunch at NYC, we have zeroed in on boho chic as the way forward this summer.

Thinking along the same lines is Mumbai-based label Lovegen. Co-founded by stylists/designers Dolly Sidhwani, Bhavana Pandey and Nandita Mahtani, the brand’s latest line is inspired by California’s Coachella music festival—owing to the bright colours with a subtle element in neon associated with the fete.

Breezing through
While off-shoulder styles form a key element in their brand new line, watch out for detailing including quirky aztec prints and techniques ranging from the tie-and-dye to abstract patterns. “India is growing  rapidly and is highly influenced by the West—something that we are all aware of.

We have become more open to the idea of experimenting with styles and thinking out-of-the-box. Travel has become essential and must for all,” says Nandita, the stylist/designers for celebrities such as Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli and Shilpa Shetty.

She adds, “With the travel season kicking off, resort and holiday wear have become vital. Our collection meets the need of the hour and ventures into projecting ‘fashion’ as something  more than basic necessity.”

With Dolly—the founder of Mumbai-based clothing brand Noble Faith—ensuring the quality of innovation and craftsmanship in the brand’s outfits, one can spot an array of breezy fabrics  in the ensemble (think soft muls, linens, pure cotton and chikan) paired with beautiful hand embroideries like resham work.

Rebel factor
If you’re one of those who can’t do without denim despite the season, the designer trio has got that covered too with their exclusive SS line titled ‘Date with Denim’ featuring rebel runway looks ranging from culottes to bomber jackets.

Worried out how to style your boho wardrobe? The best friends/business partners, have the perfect pointers for you, “Pair our favourite off-shoulder embroidered top with denim shorts and wedges to beat the summer heat or use a pair of tie up sandals with our tie-dye maxi dress,” adds Bhavana, who has worked with fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Dior and Cartier.
