Rs 1.41 lakh seized from six in Hyderabad for betting on IPL matches

Six persons, who were indulging in betting on ongoing IPL cricket matches accepting amount from punters, were arrested by the Task Force police on Sunday.

HYDERABAD: Six persons, who were indulging in betting on ongoing IPL cricket matches accepting amount from punters, were arrested by the Task Force police on Sunday.

Police seized Rs 1.41 lakh cash, a television set and six mobile phones from the accused. The arrested persons are Kuldeep Sharma, Mahesh Beeradhar, Neelash Kumawath, Gajendar Agarwal, G Prasanth and Maneesh Agarwal.

Police said Kuldeep Sharma is a known cricket betting organiser and was arrested on previous occasions. Sharma and his friends were indulging in organising cricket betting by accepting amount from punters for gaining illegal profits. On a tip off, police carried out raids on a premises located at Kishanbagh where the accused were organising cricket betting. Police arrested the accused and handed over to Bahadurpura police.
