When content is king

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad-based content creation, publishing and audience development firm Whacked Out Media has recently announced that it is among India’s largest networks. “Our 223 million social media subscribers have generated 1 billion monthly views in Dec 2016 alone,” he says.

With a long-term goal to to become the largest digital publishing house by acquiring / creating more content including content from global sources, the company says that its three channels Telugu Filmnagar, Children Nursery Rhymes and Nursery Rhymes have crossed 1 billion lifetime views.

“Our ability to generate content without incurring high costs and organic audiences at zero cost is what gives us the edge,” says Ram Veerapaneni, Managing Director.

The 42-year-old-doyen of the south Indian movie industry for over 20 years, adds, “We help the producers understand the real value of unbundling their copyrights over the content they create through routes other than traditional theatrical, home video and audio.”

In 2010, Ram acquired the-then fledgling company Whacked Out and brought 15,000 hours of content that he had acquired through his prior experience to the digital world. Since then the company has amassed over 600,000 hours of content.

Ram says that using his significant network (built over 20 years) to add super stars who partnered with the company, to manage their digital branding and image. “Combining quality content and our celebrity/influencer networks we are able to generate high traffic to our social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Pinterest).”
