HYDERABAD: A 14-year-old boy, who was sodomised by his friends and classmates on several occasions, attempted suicide by consuming acid at home. However, his father noticed it and averted the attempt. The incident took place in Chaderghat police limits on Monday.

The boy’s father lodged a complaint with the Chaderghat police that his son was sodomised by a few students and some majors living in his neighbourhood for the past one and half month. They captured a video of the incident and threatened and also extracted money from his son.

“They took my son outside on the pretext of playing and showed him porn. Then he was sodomised several times. The episode was videographed by them, who later showed the same at the school where my son is studying,” said the victim’s father.

He said that his son told him that he was sodomised in a jeep, in the school cellar, on the terrace of the school among other places. They took Rs 500 from him for not showing the video to anyone, but when he failed, the boys showed the video to one of the teacher’s in the school, after which my son was suspended. “My son went into depression and was worried to talk to me. Though I tried to pacify him, he was not in a position to get out of the incidents and threats,” he added.

Chaderghat inspector G Sattaiah said the minor was given counselling and then sent to Osmania General Hospital for medical examination. “We registered a case under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act and are probing. Based on the investigation, further action will be taken,” said the inspector.

“Due to the influence of pornography and availability of internet, four children indulged in such activity. The boys were attracted towards such bad things and hence, indulged in unnatural sexual activity together,’’ said Achyuta Rao, member of a Child Rights Commission.
