SIDDIPET: High tension was created when people expressed their  anger over the death of SI since Wednesday morning and at last they attacked the media. People were protesting in view of Kukunoorpally SI Prabhakar Reddy’s suicide and a TV channel broadcasting another angle angered the people.

Police leaked the information to NTV channel relating to death of Hyderabad beautician Shirisha and that SI Prabhakar Reddy with fear of facing investigation had committed suicide. The same was telecast by the channel, which angered the people and they burnt the  media van at Kukunoorpally police station. 

Meanwhile, the cops resorted to lathicharge anticipating of the fact that the mob might burn other media vehicles. The situation remained tense in the afternoon at the police station and later returned to normalcy by 06.30 pm. 

SI Prabhakar Reddy’s wife, Rachana and relatives reached the police station at the same time. She lodged a complaint alleging that higher officials were responsible for the death of her husband. 
Meanwhile, suicide of three sub-inspectors, two of them attached with the same police station, within a year is creating ripples in the district.

People also expressed anger over the ongoing suicides of sub-inspectors in the Siddipet district, which is represented by none other than chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. In all the three cases, the family members alleged that harassment is the reason for the suicides. Police staff said SI Prabhakar Reddy was not allowed to go on leave when his son was born and was subjected to mental torture. As the suicide of SI shocked the people, they reached the Kukunoorpally police station in hundreds.
